Taiba
The TAIBA municipality is a small paradise located 76 Kms away from Fortaleza, which can be reached via a good flat road in one hour, while driving through a pretty landscape of farms with animals and the abundant vegetation of tropical fruits, coconuts, palms, etc. As you approach the beach, it extends before your eyes in an immense, exotic landscape of dunes , fresh water lagoons, and virgin beaches.
The town, of Indian origin, bases its activity on fishing and cattle ranching. One is able to see the daily ritual of the cleaning of the fish every day at noon, when the light fishing “rafts” arrive at the beach and the families go to gather the catch of the day. Having a population of about 3,000 inhabitants, it has a good variety of restaurants and posadas. Every year - for good reason - it receives the participants of the world-wide championship of skate/surf, a place chosen because of its constant ship-to-shore breeze and the intact beach break extension.
It has three restaurants, two hotels and several local eateries.The world-wide championship of skate-surf is celebrated annually on its beaches, due to the ideal wind conditions all year round.
